Sustainability isn't a marketing line for Champion — it's how we run our operations. From the fuel in our trucks to the way we sort recyclables, we're trying to do this right.
Champion has been transitioning our collection trucks to compressed natural gas (CNG) for years. CNG trucks are dramatically cleaner-burning than diesel — fewer particulates, lower NOx emissions, and a much quieter operation on the residential streets where we work every morning. If you've noticed our trucks getting harder to hear, that's by design.
The hardest part of recycling isn't collecting it — it's keeping the stream clean. Contamination from food residue, plastic bags, and non-recyclable items is what sends entire loads to the landfill. We invest in customer education (our chat will walk you through what goes where) and partner with regional materials-recovery facilities that maintain high sorting standards.
